Junk removal in Winnetka is usually a bigger job than the square footage suggests. Homes here are large, many are historic, and they come with the features that make hauling complicated: multi-level basements, coach houses and carriage buildings, third-floor rooms, deep ravine lots, and long private drives that a full-size truck cannot turn around in.
We plan for all of it. Access gets mapped before the crew arrives, floors and original millwork get protected, and we size the crew to the property rather than sending two people and hoping.
Discretion matters here too. Our trucks come in, load, and leave without an all-day production on a quiet street. For estate work in particular, that’s usually the first thing a family asks about.
Two things shape every Winnetka job. The first is access. Long drives, gated entries, mature landscaping, and ravine grades all affect how close the truck can get and how far items have to be carried. We ask for a photo of the drive and the approach, not just the pile.
Most large single-family homes here take two to three days. We’ll give you a firm timeline at the walkthrough and plan around your closing or listing date.
Yes. We drain it, cut the shell into sections, separate the frame and components, and carry it out through the gate by hand. That’s specifically why homeowners here call us after other companies quote heavy equipment.
Yes, on every job. Runners, jamb guards, and blankets are standard. Given the age and value of Winnetka homes, we treat it as part of the job rather than an add-on.
Yes. We schedule tightly, keep the truck loading time short, and don’t stage material on the lawn or the street. Estate clients and residents in Kenilworth and Winnetka ask for this often.
Usually, but send a photo. If it can’t turn around, we’ll plan a staging point and use dollies for the last stretch. Knowing in advance prevents a wasted appointment.
