About Us

About Northfield Haulers

Northfield Haulers started because getting rid of a couch on the North Shore was harder than it should be. Village pickup wouldn’t take it. The national chains quoted a price on the phone and a different one in the driveway. Nobody could tell you where the stuff actually went.

So we built the company we would have wanted to hire. Honest quotes given before the work starts. A crew that arrives when it says it will. Real sorting at the back end so your old dresser has a shot at a second home instead of a hole in the ground.

We’ve spent years hauling across Northfield, Wilmette, Winnetka, Glencoe, Kenilworth, Glenview, Skokie, and Rogers Park. We know which Winnetka driveways a full-size truck can’t turn around in. We know Kenilworth has opinions about what sits at the curb and for how long. That local knowledge is why jobs go smoothly.

Where Your Junk Actually Goes

Every load comes back to our facility and gets separated. Furniture and household goods in usable condition go to local donation partners. Metal goes to scrap recyclers. Electronics go to certified e-waste processors, since Illinois bans most electronics from landfills anyway. Clean yard waste goes to compost. Cardboard and clean lumber get diverted where a facility will take them.

The result is that less than 12% of everything we collect ends up buried. Our current recycling rate sits around 30%, and our target this year is to push it past 40%. That number is on this page because we want to be held to it.

Nothing about this costs you extra. It just takes us longer at the end of the day, which is a trade we’re happy to make.

The Price We Quote Is the Price You Pay

No stair fees, no heavy item surcharges, no "we didn't realize it was in the basement" adjustments. The crew confirms the number on-site before lifting anything.
We Show Up When We Say
You get an arrival window and a call when we're on the way. If we're running behind, you hear it from us before you have to ask.
We Leave It Cleaner Than We Found It
Sweeping up is part of the job, not a favor. Driveways, garages, basements, and hallways get a broom before we pull out.
Recycling Isn't a Marketing Line
We publish our diversion number and update it. If it slips, we'll say so.
