Mattress and Bed Removal

Mattress and Bed Removal on the North Shore

Mattress removal is harder than it should be. Most Cook County waste haulers either refuse mattresses outright or require them sealed in a disposal bag with a paid sticker, left out on a specific week. Meanwhile the thing is sitting in your hallway blocking a door.

We take it whenever you’re ready. Our crew wraps the mattress before it moves so nothing gets on your walls or carpet, carries it down from any floor, and loads it out.

Mattresses are among the most recyclable bulky items. The steel springs, foam, cotton, and wood frame can all be separated and reused. We take them to certified recyclers where that’s available rather than adding another eight cubic feet to a landfill.

Mattress Removal FAQs

Can I put a mattress out with my regular trash?

Usually not without extra steps. Most local haulers require a sealed disposal bag and a purchased sticker, and some won’t take mattresses at all. Rules vary by village, so check yours, or just call us and skip it.

Do you recycle mattresses?

Yes, wherever a receiving facility is available. Steel springs, foam, fiber, and wood can all be separated and reclaimed, which keeps a very bulky item out of a landfill.

What if the mattress has bed bugs?

Tell us in advance. We’ll take it, but it has to be sealed in a bag before we arrive so nothing spreads during transport. Being upfront about this protects your neighbors and our other customers.

Can you take a mattress from the second floor?

Yes, and stairs don’t change the price. We carry it down and protect the walls and railings on the way.

How much does mattress removal cost?

A single mattress and box spring is one of our lowest-priced jobs. Adding a bed frame or a dresser to the same visit barely moves the number, so clear the whole room at once if you can.
